Theme: Bhagat Singh - Shaheed-e-Azam

The topic for this week’s school assembly was Saheed Bhagat Singh, the most influential revolutionary of the Indian independence movement.

Day I - Was an insight into his life, as a teenager he studied European revolutionary movements and was attracted to anarchist  and Marxist  ideologies.

Day II -  The  Jallianwala Bagh massacre- was enacted.

Day III -  During Simon Commission incident  Lala Lajpat Rai sustained serious injuries and died less than three weeks later.   The students enacted ‘Simon go away’ march past.

Day IV - Saheed Bhagat Singh, sought revenge for the death of Lala Lajpat Rai .  Singh was involved in the murder of British police officer John Saunders.. He undertook a successful effort to throw two bombs and leaflets inside the Central Legislative Assembly while shouting slogans of revolution. 


Day V - Quiz on Saheed Bhagat Singh was conducted.
