Card & Poster Making Competition

Card making competition for classes I to V and Poster making competition for classes VI to X were organized on 20.12.2013 on the occasion of the fast approaching Christmas and New Year. The students of all classes gave vent to their imagination to present appropriate and colourful scenes to wish all ‘A Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year’.

Book Fair

‘Be as careful of the books you read, as of the company you keep; for your habits and character will be as much influenced by the former as the latter.’

Orchids highlights the benefits of reading books by organizing USSR (Uninterrupted Self Sustained Reading) week periodically to enhance students’ reading skills. Each student of every class gets engaged in reading during a specified time during the week.

As one of the attempts to promote reading habit among students, the school organized a book exhibition which was inaugurated by the Principal Mrs.Mona Mehdi, who herself is a voracious reader. She encouraged the students to take up reading as a hobby. The fair would last for 3 days.

USSR Week

1.       This is to inform you that 7/12/2013 will be a normal working day for classes I to X, due to forced holiday on 5/12/2013.

2.      For classes I to V, the exam scheduled on 5/12/2013, will be held on 7/12/2013.

3.      For classes VI to VIII, the exam scheduled on 5/12/2013, will be held on 10/12/2013.

4.      For classes IX and X, the exam scheduled 5/12/2013, will be held on 9/12/2013.

INTERHOUSE ICT COMPETITION (2013-2014)

On November 29, 2013 Interhouse ICT Competition  was held for classes VI – X to make the students aware of the  happenings in the field of Information technology which would enhance students’ interests from the  grass root level in  software and hardware related issues and would also inculcate the spirit of team work and competition.

This Competition was held for two days which included:

1.      Preliminary test on the 27^th November.

2.      Quiz, Hardware Connectivity and identification of internal Hardware parts were the different rounds held on the 29^th November.

For the Quiz, there were five rounds namely: Cryptology round, Visual round, Abbreviation round, Who’s who round and Quick Bytes Round. All the higher class students participated with great enthusiasm in the event.
