Picnic to Dhola-ri-Dhani on 07/01/12

The students of Orchids- The International School went for a picnic on 7.1.12 to the Tourist attraction, Dhola-ri-Dhani, an ethnic Rajasthani village located far from the madding crowd, just 11 kms from Secunderabad at Kompally on Medchal Highway. The journey by the school buses was of excited anticipation.

The school was given a traditional welcome near the majestic entrance. Walking through the entrance that opens the door to a world of folk lore and culture, one experiences an ethnic fantasy and the true Rajasthani lifestyle. The students enjoyed the unique attractions like Camel ride, Puppet show, Magic show, Rajasthani folk music and the ambience of the ethnic Rajasthani styled resort. They shopped at the exclusive handicrafts showroom and participated in the amazing games. The lakes, the boats, the caves and the cottages formed an enthralling scene.

It was a complete fun-filled day for children at the mini Rajasthan.

CHRISTMAS CHEER AT ORCHIDS (23/12/2011)

Christmas is in the offing. It’s the time to rejoice and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
The Christmas celebrations in Orchids started with the colourful display boards with  bells, stars, candles, Christmas tree and all that go into the celebration of the festival. The depiction of the nativity scene, the enchanting decoration with golden drops, silver stars and the ever-green Christmas tree were of warmth and welcome in Orchids, ushering the Christmas season.

The choir enthralled everyone with sonorous Christmas carols during the one-hour special programme. The wondrous nativity play depicting the birth of Christ was the cynosure of the event. The benevolent Santa Claus arrived with all the much-awaited gifts to the delight of everyone. Principal of Orchids, Mrs. Mona Mehdi, reminded the message of Christmas -love, faith and peace, sharing and caring and universal brotherhood. Wishes for ‘Merry Christmas’ filled the air and augmented the spirit of Christmas.
